Data Safety & Deletion Policy

Understand your options regarding data retention, deleting individual activities, or permanently erasing your account.

Delete Individual Data & Keep Account

If you wish to retain your EchoWealth account but want to clear out specific transactions, balances, or details, you can selectively delete individual data records. Deleting individual data performs the following actions:

  • Cash Activities: Deleting a cash deposit or withdrawal will automatically revert the affected Cash Wallet balance and sync the default Payment Source (e.g. your linked bank account balance).
  • Linked Accounts & Payment Sources: You can disconnect and remove specific bank accounts or payment channels from the settings.
  • Budgets & Categories: Custom transaction categories and limits can be modified or removed at any time.

Steps to Delete Individual Data:

  • Open the EchoWealth app and navigate to the screen showing the target data (e.g. Cash Activity history).
  • Tap on the specific transaction or payment source you wish to remove.
  • Select the delete or unlink option.
  • Confirm the pop-up prompt to recalculate and sync your balances.

Delete Entire Account & Associated Details

If you decide to stop using EchoWealth completely, you can delete your account. This action triggers a cascading deletion across our secure servers, wiping out all records linked to your identity.

⚠️ Warning: Permanent Loss of Data

This action is immediate and irreversible. Once confirmed, you will lose access to all your historical transactions, custom categorizations, active debts, payment structures, and family budget settings.

Method 1: Delete via the App (Recommended)

  • Log in to the EchoWealth mobile app and navigate to the Settings screen (Profile icon).
  • Under the Account & Security section, tap Delete Account.
  • Confirm the first security dialog warning you about data deletion.
  • Confirm the second final warning dialog. Your data will be deleted instantly, and you will be securely logged out.

Method 2: Request via Support

If you cannot access the application, you can send an account deletion request from your registered email address to our support team:

Please allow up to 48 hours for our support team to verify your request and process the deletion manually.

Data Deletion Timeline & Backups

When you delete individual records or your entire account, the change is applied in real-time to our active production databases. Associated files (like merchant invoice receipts, profile photos) are immediately marked for deletion and permanently removed from our storage systems within 7 business days.

Information stored in secured offline database backups is not overwritten immediately but will be completely cleared out within our standard backup rotation cycle of 30 days.
